F&S announce new additions to editorial team

Finance and Society has added two new members to its editorial team:

We are delighted to announce that another two editors are joining our team: Stefano Sgambati and Andreas Kanaris Miyashiro. Read about their views on the journal and their research profiles below.

Amin Samman, Editor-in-Chief

Stefano Sgambati
Associate editor, Finance and Society

Finance and Society is a breath of fresh air in the study of money and finance. It makes the objects of what can sometimes appear as a dismal science feel “joyful” and “strange” again, inviting readers to confront the puzzles, paradoxes, and messy phenomena that defy common sense and animate the financial world. My own research explores the political economy of money, debt, and leverage, with particular focus on banking, hedge funds, and alternative finance, and a broader interest in the class relations and forms of power that sustain contemporary capitalism. I am delighted to join the editorial team and look forward to contributing to the journal’s continued development as one of the leading venues for critical research on money, finance, and power.

Andreas Kanaris Miyashiro
Communications editor and editorial assistant, Finance and Society

As a scholar working at the intersection of critical finance studies, international political economy, and critical accounting, Finance and Society has proven formative to my understanding of finance, pushing me to consider new theoretical perspectives and empirical cases. As Communications Editor and Editorial Assistant, I look forward to contributing towards the journal’s impressive reach and impact. My current research focuses on calculative devices in finance, and how they shape the rationalities, discourses, and material practices through which financial markets are constructed.
