Finance and Society, vol. 12 no. 2 (2026): When finance becomes tech, Part I.

Finance and Society is pleased to announce the publication of volume 12, number 2. This is the first of two special issues devoted to the nexus of digital technology and finance (‘When finance becomes tech’). Part one opens with an agenda-setting article on technofinance by the special issue editors, plus an important diagnostic essay by Paul Langley and Andrew Leyshon on the disappearance of fintech. Other contributions address the digital shaping of financial subjectivities, tokenization, taxtech, and cloud banking.
